Apex Group to buy Swiss fund distributor

The FINMA-regulated firm also provides local representation services to foreign managers

Bermuda-headquartered global financial services provider Apex Group is to acquire ARM Swiss Representatives.

The deal, which is subject to regulatory approval, is expected to close in Q3 2021.

Financial details were not disclosed.

Enhanced services

The acquisition is intended to strengthen Apex’s local presence in Switzerland and provide clients with enhanced regulatory compliance and distribution services and assistance when accessing the Swiss market.

Founded in 2014, ARM Swiss Representatives (ASR) provides compliance and regulatory services to over 630 funds and 350 fund managers, internationally, seeking to market their funds in the country.

It also acts as the local distributor for roughly 12 fund managers operating across a range of investment strategies.

ASR co-founders Anne Empain and Greg Taylor said joining Apex Group, “will enable us to access a wider audience of foreign managers and promoters seeking to market their funds and financial services to Swiss investor”.

“Apex has made notable strides in developing its distribution and capital introduction services for European investors, and we look forward to bringing these to Switzerland.”
