The bumpy bond road

Benchmark 10-year bond yields in the Eurozone have more than doubled since the end of April, when they reached an all-time low. Are we now simply witnessing a correction after markets overshot in the wake of the ECB’s bond-buying programme, or is this the beginning of a serious bond bear market as deflation worries have started to fade?

A Grexit is unavoidable

Barry Norris, the European equity manager and co-founder of London-based investment boutique Argonaut, is one of the most outspoken proponents of a Grexit. The refusal of the current ‘communist’ Greek government to commit to reforms means the country’s economy could never be able to stand on its own feet if it stays in the eurozone, Norris believes.
