Columbia Threadneedle launches global credit fund

The Threadneedle Global Investment Grade Credit Opportunities Fund aims to deliver positive returns by investing primarily in global investment grade markets.

It will be managed by head of investment grade credit for EMEA Alasdair Ross (pictured) and London-based senior investment grade portfolio manager Ryan Staszewski.

Ross, who is co-manager of the Threadneedle Credit Opportunities Fund, said the investment grade section of the existing fund delivered over half of the fund’s performance since its inception over eight years ago.

He said the firm’s investment approach to managing credit strategies is based on “intensive fundamental research”.

Staszewski, a lead manager of the UK and European Strategic bond portfolios, said: “Our global investment grade research team of 13 is resourced to provide a balance between detailed due diligence of issuers and clear vision of market and industry sector trends.”

The Threadneedle Global Investment Grade Credit Opportunities Fund is domiciled in Luxembourg but will be available across other European countries including the UK, as well as Singapore, pending regulatory approval.
