Columbia Threadneedle names head of distribution for EMEA

Michaela Collet Jackson has been recruited to lead the firm’s regional sales and client service functions across wholesale, institutional and insurance channels for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Reporting to Nick Ring, chief executive Emea, she will join Columbia Threadneedle’s regional leadership team and primary governance bodies.

She will start in her new role on 22 March.

Steeped in distribution

Jackson has been managing director, deputy chief operation officer Emea distribution at Blackrock since April 2020.

To Columbia Threadneedle she brings 18 years’ asset management industry experience in Europe; having joined Barclays Global Investors in 2005, later moving to Blackrock when it acquired the business in 2009.

During her career, Jackson held a number of distribution roles; including iShares business development lead for international private banks in the UK and Switzerland, sales director for the Nordic institutional business, head of Nordic retail and head of solutions & partnerships for Emea retail.

Growth strategy

Ring commented: “Michaela joins Columbia Threadneedle at an exciting time – we have consistently strong investment performance, a broad array of strategies across all major asset classes and experience creating bespoke solutions for our clients.

“Under Michael’s leadership we are well positioned to build deeper relationships, serve more clients and grow our Emea franchise.”
