Investec offers alternative investment Ucits range

Luxembourg old town view in autumn.

Investec Asset Management has launched a Luxembourg-domiciled alternative investment fund range which allows European institutional investors to a select range of alternative investment strategies.

The launch of the the Investec Global Alternative Fund 1 follows the group’s Global Strategy Fund Ucits range, which is also domiciled in Luxembourg.

The alternative investment fund range – established under the Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive which facilitates cross-border marketing in EU Member States – is subject to Luxembourg’s Specialised Investment Fund regime.

The move by the London-headquartered group to expand its European reach comes at a time when many asset managers are rejigging their international distribution strategies as Brexit looms.

Invesco Multi-Asset Credit strategy will be the first in the range to be made available to investors and will be co-managed by Jeff Boswell, head of credit, and Garland Hansmann.

John Green, global head of client group, said: “This move underlines our commitment to providing our European clients with solutions tailored to their specific requirements – an example being investors’ dual requirements for yield enhancement and capital preservation given uncertain markets.”
