INVESTMENT INSIGHT:

EDP Renováveis – EDPR

We have in Portugal a global leader in the renewable energy sector and the world’s third-largest wind energy producer.

With a sound development pipeline, first class assets and market-leading operating capacity, EDPR has undergone exceptional development in recent years and is currently present in 15 markets, mainly in North and South America and Europe. The company is a player in onshore and offshore wind and in the solar market.

EDPR is committed to furthering social advances in terms of sustainability and integration. This is reflected by the inclusion of the company in the Bloomberg Gender Equality index and the fact that it has been certified as a Top Employer 2021 in Europe, both of which recognise its employee-driven policies.

EDPR wants to contribute to climate change mitigation, promote the circular economy and biodiversity protection. They protect the environment by actively contributing to the decarbonisation of the economy.

INVESTMENT INSIGHT:

Just a few figures to illustrate some aspects of France :

France is a very, very big country, no doubt, with its 10.2 million km² of maritime surface (second country in the world, just after the US). The most visited country in the world, there are 45 remarkables sites duly registered as so by UNESCO, ranking France in 4th place.

Regarding consumer habits, no surprise that we are first to eat cheese (with over 1,000 different cheeses duly produced in our country) and drink wine (particularly rosé, bio wine).

But it is far more amazing to see that French people are first in Europe when it comes to drinking whisky, first in the world in eating Nutella spread, second when it comes to eatting pizzas (ahead of Italy!), but are no longer among the biggest consumers of bread, fish and meat.

That tradition has not continued!
