Hong Kong-based Value Partners has launched an active equity fund offering investors full exposure to “core China” fundamental value companies.
The Value Partners All China Equity Fund aims to provide capital appreciation by investing primarily in equities and equity-related securities by companies based in mainland China.
The Ucits compliant fund consists of a blend of approximately 80-100 onshore and offshore holdings, picked with a bottom-up approach.
The fund is overweight in consumer discretionary and significantly underweight in communication services and invests in industrials.
Fund manager Man Wing Chung said: “We are confident about the long-term economic and corporate development in China, and we’re looking at several themes such as consumption, innovation and traditional businesses which we feel are both sustainable and consistently present interesting opportunities for institutional investors.”
The fund’s benchmark is the MSCI China All Shares Index and its base currency is dollars, but it offers a range of hedged and unhedged currencies as well.
