Trump won’t disrupt EM secular growth drivers – BMO GAM

“The election of Donald Trump certainly has led to an increase in uncertainty and volatility in many markets, particularly in EM currencies,” he says.

“But we as long-term investors prefer to look at secular growth drivers such as demographics and urbanisation. In the long term we find it hard to believe that Trump will derail these things,” he adds.

“We have instead taken the opportunity to add to our holdings in Mexico and India.”
